Why Believe the Bible?

Pastor and author Voddie Baucham puts it this way: “The Bible is a reliable collection of historical documents written by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They report supernatural events that took place in the fulfillment of specific prophecies and claimed that their writings are divine rather than human in origin.”

The Bible is the means by which God communicates His plan and purpose for mankind. Without the clear and concise word of God we would be left to human speculation as to the nature of who we are, where we came from and what is the meaning and purpose of this life. If you look outside of biblical Christianity, that is what you see. A world that spends countless hours and dollars in study and speculation as to the reasons for our existence.

Many view the bible as a collection of disconnected stories, myths and legends with little basis in reality. This is far from the truth. An examination of the facts behind how this collection of books which have together into the bible is one of God’s love for His creation.
